Maha Metro has invited bids for construction of an elevated metro viaduct and six-lane elevated road on Pune’s Ramwadi–Wagholi corridor.

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) has formally invited bids for significant civil infrastructure works on the Ramwadi–Wagholi corridor, marking a key advance in the Pune Metro’s Phase-2 expansion.

The tender covers the construction of a 4.8-kilometre elevated metro viaduct from Ramwadi to Tuljabhavani Chowk, which will serve four upcoming metro stations, alongside a six-lane elevated road of nearly equal length beneath the metro stretch. Both the viaduct and the elevated roadway are planned to be executed together to streamline construction and minimise disruptions along one of Pune’s busiest transport corridors.

The combined work on the infrastructure components is expected to be completed over approximately 42 months after commencement, with solid ramps and supporting structures included in the scope. The elevated road component is proposed to extend further to Shikrapur, enhancing traffic flow and connectivity on the Nagar Road corridor, which currently experiences heavy congestion.

The Ramwadi–Wagholi extension is part of the broader Phase-2 plan for Pune Metro that was approved by the government in mid-2025 with an estimated project cost exceeding ₹3,600 crore. The full Phase-2 expansion will add nearly 13 kilometres of elevated metro tracks and new stations, significantly strengthening east-west connectivity across Pune and serving rapidly developing residential and commercial areas.

A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled ahead of the tender submission deadline in early March 2026. Officials say the integrated metro and road development will not only advance Pune’s transport infrastructure but also support future urban growth by improving mobility and reducing travel times across the region.
