IRB Infrastructure Trust secures a major ₹9,270 crore TOT project from NHAI, expanding its asset management portfolio across key Uttar Pradesh corridors.

IRB Infrastructure Trust has won a significant Toll Operate and Transfer (TOT) project from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), with an upfront payment commitment of ₹9,270 crore. The award adds major strength to NHAI’s asset monetisation strategy, which aims to boost private participation in national highway operations and long-term maintenance.

The Letter of Award issued by NHAI covers a 366-kilometre bundle in Uttar Pradesh, consisting of key stretches of the Lucknow–Ayodhya–Gorakhpur corridor on NH-27 and a portion of the Lucknow–Varanasi corridor on NH-731. Under the 20-year concession, IRB Infrastructure Trust will be responsible for toll collection, routine maintenance, and overall corridor upkeep as per NHAI standards.

This TOT award is among the largest granted in the recent phase of highway monetisation. It further strengthens IRB’s portfolio in the toll-operate-transfer space, positioning the trust as a major contender in India’s growing infrastructure asset management ecosystem.

Industry observers note that the project will not only help improve service levels on these busy corridors but also reinforce investor confidence in the TOT model as a viable approach for unlocking long-term capital and accelerating highway development.
