The Haryana government will acquire 2,600 acres near Saha Industrial Area in Ambala Cantonment to build a new industrial zone and logistic park, accelerating regional industrial growth.

The Haryana government is set to accelerate industrial growth in Ambala Cantonment with plans to acquire around 2,600 acres of land adjoining the existing Saha Industrial Area, announced state Energy and Transport Minister Anil Vij on Sunday.

The proposed expansion will include the development of a new Industrial Area and a Logistic Park on the acquired land. Additionally, the Railways is moving forward with plans to establish a freight terminal nearby. Together, these developments are expected to create a well-integrated industrial hub that offers comprehensive facilities to industries.

“The proximity of the industrial area, logistic park, and freight terminal will significantly boost the region’s industrial infrastructure and generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities,” the official statement quoted Minister Vij as saying during an event in Ambala.

The minister has instructed the Ambala Deputy Commissioner to immediately restart the land acquisition process, which had been paused for several months due to the state assembly elections but will now be expedited.

Furthermore, several farmers have already expressed their willingness to contribute land to the government and have submitted their applications via the e-Bhoomi portal in previous months.
