The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has proposed separate routes for freight and passenger movement in Greater Noida, along with the construction of a 105-metre-wide road up to the Hapur bypass to improve connectivity with the Ganga Expressway.
The proposal was discussed at a meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta in Lucknow. Additional Chief Secretary, Industrial Development, Alok Kumar, was also present at the meeting.
According to GNIDA officials, the proposed road is expected to bring Noida and Greater Noida closer to the Ganga Expressway in terms of travel time, reducing the journey to around 30 to 45 minutes. The plan involves extending connectivity by approximately 15 km to establish a direct link between Greater Noida and the Ganga Expressway.
Alongside the passenger connectivity plan, GNIDA has proposed a six-lane elevated road connecting the Multi Modal Logistics Hub (MMLH) with Noida International Airport at Jewar. The proposed corridor is planned to run parallel to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and will be designed specifically for freight movement.
The dedicated freight route is intended to provide direct connectivity between the logistics hub and the airport’s air cargo terminal. This would allow goods arriving at or moving through the Multi Modal Logistics Hub to be transported directly towards the airport, providing a dedicated link for cargo movement.
The proposed separation of freight and passenger routes is aimed at improving traffic movement in Greater Noida while strengthening connections between major road, rail, logistics and aviation infrastructure in the region.
The projects are also significant for Greater Noida’s emerging logistics network, with the MMLH and Noida International Airport forming important nodes for the movement of goods and passengers. The proposed road network would provide dedicated infrastructure for freight while improving connectivity for passenger traffic towards the Ganga Expressway.
