Haryana Govt Approves ₹523 Crore KMP Expressway Upgrade to Boost Road Safety, Reduce Travel Time & Strengthen Logistics Corridors

The Haryana government has approved a massive ₹523 crore infrastructure development package, with a major focus on repair and improvement works for the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway. The move aims to enhance road safety, improve driving conditions, and extend the lifespan of the state’s key transport corridors.

Under the plan, critical stretches of the KMP Expressway—also known as the Western Peripheral Expressway—will undergo resurfacing, structural strengthening, and maintenance. The project also includes upgrades to connecting roads and supporting infrastructure, ensuring better freight and passenger movement.

Officials stated that these upgrades will reduce accident risks, address wear and tear, and provide smoother connectivity for both commuters and commercial transport operators.

The KMP Expressway plays a vital role in decongesting Delhi’s traffic and facilitating faster cargo transit between Haryana and neighboring states. With the approved works, the state government seeks to boost logistics efficiency, support industrial growth, and provide safe, reliable road infrastructure for years to come.
