Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to deploy 110 electric buses for connectivity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar while accelerating key infrastructure projects including expressways, EV charging infrastructure, and the Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor.

The directives were issued during a high-level review meeting focused on strengthening infrastructure readiness, regional connectivity, and industrial development across the state.

According to officials, the planned fleet of electric buses will improve public transport access to the upcoming Jewar airport and support the state’s push toward sustainable and green mobility solutions. The buses are expected to operate across key routes connecting the airport with Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR, and nearby urban centres.

The state government is also fast-tracking development of EV charging infrastructure along major expressways and transport corridors to support the increasing adoption of electric mobility in Uttar Pradesh. Charging stations are expected to be developed at strategic intervals along highways and urban mobility routes.

Officials stated that major expressway projects including the Ganga Expressway and other regional connectivity corridors are being prioritised to improve logistics efficiency, industrial access, and seamless connectivity across Uttar Pradesh.

The review meeting also focused on progress of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, which is being developed to attract investment in defence manufacturing, aerospace, precision engineering, and advanced industrial production. The corridor spans multiple nodes including Lucknow, Kanpur, Aligarh, Agra, Jhansi, and Chitrakoot.

Industry experts noted that the integration of airports, expressways, EV infrastructure, and industrial corridors could significantly strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s long-term economic competitiveness and manufacturing ecosystem.

The upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar is expected to become one of India’s largest aviation infrastructure projects and a major economic catalyst for western Uttar Pradesh. The airport is likely to support growth in logistics, warehousing, hospitality, commercial real estate, and industrial investment across the region.

Officials believe enhanced public transportation connectivity and green mobility infrastructure around the airport will be critical for handling future passenger traffic growth and reducing urban congestion.

The state government has been actively positioning Uttar Pradesh as a major investment and manufacturing destination through large-scale infrastructure expansion, industrial corridor development, and logistics connectivity initiatives.

India’s infrastructure sector is witnessing increasing integration between transportation, industrial development, and sustainable mobility planning as states focus on multimodal connectivity and low-emission transportation ecosystems.

Infrastructure analysts believe the combined push for airport connectivity, electric mobility, expressways, and defence manufacturing could substantially boost regional economic activity, employment generation, and logistics efficiency across Uttar Pradesh over the coming years.
