Adani Group-backed Cemindia Projects Ltd, formerly known as ITD Cementation India Ltd, has secured a Rs 665.61-crore civil works contract for the Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project. Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (K-RIDE) issued the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) on October 29, 2026, awarding the company Package 1 of the Mallige Line (Corridor-2). The contract, valued excluding GST, carries an execution period of 24 months.
The project involves construction of a 7.795-km elevated viaduct, including ramps, a double-decker rail-cum-road flyover and a double-decker station at Mathikere. The scope also covers road flyover ramps, a Y-loop ramp, foot overbridges, multimodal integration facilities and associated infrastructure between Benniganahalli and Shettihalli.
A key feature of the project is a 1.2-km double-decker structure along Mohan Kumar Road between Mathikere and Yeshwanthpur. Designed to address right-of-way constraints in the densely developed stretch, the structure will accommodate road and suburban rail traffic at two levels. The lower level will function as a road flyover, while the upper level will carry the elevated suburban rail line. Additional works will be undertaken at Hebbal, Shettihalli and Yeshwanthpur, with physical construction expected to begin shortly.
The contract award follows Cemindia’s emergence as the lowest bidder for the package in August 2026. The development comes nearly two months after Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani met Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru on August 23. The Chief Minister had described the meeting as a courtesy visit.
K-RIDE has awarded Package 1 of Corridor-4 (Kanaka Line) to the RNS-GPL joint venture for Rs 342 crore. The package includes 6.2 km of at-grade formation and 3.6 km of elevated viaduct between Benniganahalli and Jakkur, with a 24-month completion timeline. Package 2, covering the Heelalige-Rajanukunte section, has been awarded to RNS Infrastructure Ltd for Rs 169 crore. The 13-km package involves construction of an at-grade section between Heelalige and Bellandur.
