Vedanta Aluminium has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two companies to establish downstream manufacturing units at its upcoming Vedanta Aluminium Park in Jharsuguda, Odisha, marking a significant step toward strengthening the aluminium value chain in the region.
The agreements have been signed with Singhal Steel & Power Pvt. Ltd. and SCOT-AL Metcon Pvt. Ltd., both of which will set up their manufacturing facilities within the aluminium park.
The MoUs were formalised in the presence of senior government officials, including Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Hemant Sharma, highlighting strong policy and administrative support for the initiative.
The proposed Vedanta Aluminium Park is being developed as a dedicated industrial ecosystem for downstream aluminium industries, aimed at promoting value-added manufacturing and supporting the growth of MSMEs. The initiative is expected to attract fresh investments of over ₹500 crore and generate approximately 1,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The aluminium park is designed to strengthen Odisha’s position as a global aluminium hub, while also enhancing the state’s industrial competitiveness. It will provide an integrated platform where businesses can scale efficiently through ready infrastructure, proximity to raw materials, and supportive policy frameworks.
Commenting on the development, the state government emphasized that the initiative will accelerate investments, create large-scale employment, and boost manufacturing capabilities across sectors, reinforcing Odisha’s role as a key industrial destination.
From the company’s perspective, the aluminium park reflects a strategic shift toward moving beyond primary metal production to value-added downstream manufacturing. The initiative is expected to unlock new opportunities for industries, MSMEs, and local entrepreneurs, while deepening the overall industrial ecosystem.
The first phase of the aluminium park is being developed over an area of approximately 56 acres, bringing together industrial infrastructure and investment potential to support the growth of downstream aluminium industries.
