The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has approved a comprehensive ₹2,250 crore infrastructure development programme aimed at creating new industrial areas and upgrading infrastructure across existing industrial estates in the state. The decision, taken at the Authority’s latest board meeting, is intended to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem and accelerate investment under the state’s long-term economic growth strategy.
The approved plan includes the development of new industrial parks, expansion of land banks and modernisation of infrastructure in existing industrial estates. Key works will focus on improving internal roads, drainage systems, water supply, power distribution networks, street lighting and other common facilities required to support manufacturing and industrial operations. The programme is expected to enhance the readiness of industrial zones while improving the ease of doing business for existing and prospective investors.
UPSIDA has also cleared an expanded budget for the current financial year to fast-track infrastructure projects and strengthen administrative efficiency. The Authority aims to create investment-ready industrial clusters capable of attracting industries across sectors, including engineering, electronics, logistics, food processing and advanced manufacturing.
The initiative forms part of Uttar Pradesh’s broader strategy to position itself as a leading manufacturing and investment destination while advancing its goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy. By expanding industrial infrastructure and improving connectivity across industrial estates, the state expects to generate employment, encourage private investment and support balanced regional industrial development.
