Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) has introduced plenum-rated fibre trunk assemblies designed to support high-density connectivity requirements in next-generation AI data centres.
The new assemblies are designed to address the growing demand for high-speed, reliable and space-efficient fibre connectivity as AI workloads drive higher data volumes, network speeds and fibre density within data centre environments.
STL’s latest offering forms part of its broader portfolio of optical connectivity solutions developed for AI-ready data centre infrastructure. The company has been expanding its portfolio to address the specific cabling and connectivity requirements of hyperscalers, colocation providers, enterprises and other data centre operators.
The plenum-rated fibre trunk assemblies are designed for installation in plenum spaces, where cabling products need to meet specific fire-safety and low-smoke requirements. Their application can help data centre operators manage high-density fibre connections while supporting efficient deployment within constrained spaces.
STL’s data centre portfolio includes high-density fibre and copper cabling solutions, pre-terminated multi-fibre systems and connectivity products designed for high-speed, low-latency networking. The company’s solutions are compliant with international data centre and cabling standards, including ANSI/TIA-942, TIA-568 and ISO 11801, and are backed by a 25-year performance warranty.
The company has been strengthening its focus on AI data centres as the rapid adoption of GPU-based computing increases the requirement for dense optical connectivity. STL’s Neuralis AI Data Centre Portfolio, for instance, includes ultra-high-density pre-terminated fibre cables for GPU clusters and high-speed data centre interconnect solutions based on its Celesta IBR cable series, with configurations supporting up to 6,912 fibres.
STL has also developed its optical connectivity capabilities around high-density fibre technologies to support the increasing scale and complexity of AI infrastructure. The company has previously highlighted the need for AI data centres to accommodate significantly higher fibre counts because of increased server density and bandwidth requirements.
The launch comes as data centre operators increasingly look for connectivity infrastructure that can combine high fibre density, efficient installation, reliability and safety requirements.
