SANY has dispatched its first batch of autonomous mining trucks to South America, marking the company’s entry into the region’s autonomous mining market and a significant step in the international expansion of its intelligent mining solutions. The departure ceremony was held on August 12 at SANY Heavy Equipment’s Shenyang Industrial Park, with the first batch of SKT110Ei pure-electric autonomous mining trucks leaving the facility for overseas deployment.

The project represents SANY’s first autonomous mining truck deployment in South America and marks the entry of Chinese autonomous mining truck technology into the Latin American market. The solution supplied to the customer includes autonomous mining trucks, supporting dispatch systems and operational maintenance services. SANY said the system has been developed to address challenges including shortages of skilled mining drivers, rising labour costs, safety risks and the need to improve productivity.

The SKT110Ei is a pure-electric autonomous mining truck designed for intelligent mining operations. SANY’s autonomous mining technology combines proprietary vehicle-control systems, multi-sensor perception, AI-based decision-making and cloud-based intelligent dispatching to support automated haulage operations.

The company said its autonomous mining solutions had, as of July 2026, been deployed across more than 300 autonomous mining trucks in China, with commercial operations spanning major open-pit mines in regions including Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia and Qinghai. The fleet has accumulated more than 13 million km of safe operating mileage and moved over 41 million cubic metres of earth and rock, according to SANY.

The South American deployment comes as SANY expands its focus on electrification, automation and intelligent mining, with the company positioning autonomous equipment as a means to improve safety, operational efficiency and cost performance in challenging mining environments.
