RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has secured a significant purchase order from the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to provide Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), further expanding its role in delivering digital infrastructure solutions across the Indian Railways ecosystem. The order has been awarded by a domestic public sector entity and will be executed over the stipulated contract period.
The project involves the provisioning and management of IT infrastructure services to support IRCTC’s digital operations. Through the IaaS model, RailTel will provide computing, storage and associated infrastructure resources designed to enhance the reliability, scalability and performance of IRCTC’s technology platforms.
The contract adds to RailTel’s growing portfolio of government technology projects, reflecting the increasing adoption of cloud-based and managed infrastructure services across public sector organisations. The company has been playing a key role in modernising digital infrastructure for various ministries, departments and railway entities through data centre, network and managed service solutions.
In its regulatory disclosure, RailTel stated that the order has been received from a domestic entity and does not constitute a related-party transaction. The latest win is expected to further strengthen the company’s order book while reinforcing its position as a leading provider of ICT and digital infrastructure services for the government and railway sectors.
