Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth more than ₹17,900 crore during his visit to Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, with the initiatives spanning aviation, semiconductor manufacturing, road connectivity, power transmission and social infrastructure. The projects are aimed at strengthening regional connectivity, industrial growth and public infrastructure in both states.
In Andhra Pradesh, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district. Developed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model at a cost of over ₹5,640 crore, the greenfield airport has an initial capacity to handle six million passengers annually, with provision for future expansion. Modi will also dedicate a series of infrastructure projects, including the state’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility, new national highway works and power transmission projects designed to enhance industrial competitiveness and regional connectivity.
The Prime Minister will later travel to Mysuru, where he will inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre (Viveka Smaraka) at the Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama. The centre has been developed to promote youth engagement, cultural values and personality development inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
The combined package of projects reflects the Centre’s continued focus on expanding transport infrastructure, boosting advanced manufacturing and strengthening public facilities across key growth regions. The investments are expected to improve connectivity, generate employment opportunities and support long-term economic development in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
