Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced that Mumbai Monorail services will be temporarily suspended from September 20 to facilitate major upgrade works.
According to officials, the suspension is necessary to carry out essential maintenance and system enhancements aimed at improving passenger safety, reliability, and overall efficiency of operations. The upgrade will cover critical areas such as track systems, signaling, and power supply infrastructure.
The MMRDA has assured commuters that once the works are completed, the monorail will offer a smoother travel experience with increased dependability. Authorities have also advised passengers to plan alternative modes of transport during the suspension period.
This is part of the agency’s broader plan to modernize Mumbai’s transport infrastructure and provide commuters with safer and more reliable public transport services in the long run.
