JK Lakshmi Cement has deployed more than 70 electric vehicles (EVs) across its logistics network and plans to increase the fleet to 120 vehicles by March 2027. The company has also achieved nearly 100% electric vehicle-based clinker dispatches from its Sirohi plant in Rajasthan to its Kalol Grinding Unit in Gujarat.

The EV deployment covers key transportation routes connecting Sirohi with the Kalol Grinding Unit, Palanpur Unit and Surat Grinding Unit. The company is working with specialised EV logistics providers SwitchLabs and Billion E to support operations and expand electric mobility across its logistics network.

The transition to electric vehicles is part of JK Lakshmi Cement’s efforts to reduce transportation-related emissions while improving logistics efficiency. Achieving near-total EV-based clinker dispatches on the Sirohi-Kalol route represents a key milestone in integrating electric mobility into long-haul cement transportation.

Vinita Singhania, Chairperson and Managing Director of JK Lakshmi Cement, said the company is integrating sustainable practices into its operations while maintaining a focus on long-term business efficiency. She noted that the deployment of more than 70 EVs and the transition to electric clinker dispatches on the Sirohi-Kalol route reflect progress in scaling cleaner logistics.

The planned expansion to 120 electric vehicles forms part of the company’s broader sustainability and decarbonisation roadmap, which aims to reduce emissions across its value chain. JK Lakshmi Cement has also set a long-term ambition of achieving net-zero emissions by 2047.
