Indian cement major JK Cement has commissioned an additional 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of cement grinding capacity at its existing plants in Panna (Madhya Pradesh) and Hamirpur (Uttar Pradesh), enhancing its overall production muscle.
As of 16 January 2026, the company has added 1 MTPA at each location, increasing the grinding capacity at both facilities from 2 MTPA to 3 MTPA. This move forms part of the company’s broader plan to scale up output under a 6 MTPA capacity expansion programme approved by its board in January 2024. With this latest commissioning, JK Cement’s total grey cement production capacity has risen to approximately 28.26 MTPA.
The expansion strategy also includes further capacity additions across other plants and greenfield projects, including a planned 3 MTPA grinding unit in Bihar. The company’s ongoing upgrades aim to bolster its ability to meet strong demand from India’s booming infrastructure and construction sectors.
The latest capacity ramp-up adds to JK Cement’s expanding footprint in central and northern India, reinforcing its competitive position in the domestic cement market.
