IRCON International Limited has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth ₹862.46 crore from East Central Railway for track works and railway material supply associated with the construction of the third and fourth lines under the Son Nagar–Andal project. The company received the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) on October 12, 2026, with the project scheduled for completion within 365 days.
The contract covers the supply of ballast and permanent way (P.Way) materials, laying and linking of railway tracks, and other associated works designed for a 32.5-tonne axle load. The project spans two sections under East Central Railway.
The first section covers the Gomoh–Koderma route under the Dhanbad division, while the second covers the Gaya–Son Nagar section under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya division. The contract also includes the supply of permanent way materials at Gaya for the third- and fourth-line construction works.
The order is classified as a domestic EPC works contract. IRCON stated that the awarding entity has no related-party connection with the company and that its promoters, promoter group and group companies have no interest in the entity awarding the contract.
As of June 30, 2026, IRCON’s consolidated order book stood at ₹23,366 crore, of which ₹17,989 crore came from railway projects. The latest contract adds to its railway infrastructure portfolio, which includes track construction and other engineering works.
The project is expected to support the expansion of railway line capacity along the Son Nagar–Andal corridor. The addition of the third and fourth lines is intended to strengthen the railway network, while IRCON’s scope focuses on track infrastructure and associated material supply.
