RITES Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to provide specialised consultancy and technical support for highway and infrastructure projects across the North-East and other strategic areas.
The agreement will cover various stages of project development, including planning, development, construction and maintenance of highway and infrastructure projects.
Under the MoU, RITES will provide a broad range of consultancy services for NHIDCL’s projects. These include preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for highways and tunnels, external technical audits and third-party quality assurance.
The scope will also cover structural health assessments of bridges and flyovers, Technical Support Unit services and road safety audits. RITES will further undertake crash investigation and mitigation planning, along with slope stability studies and design services.
The company will also provide Authority Engineering services for highway, tunnel and slope stability projects. These services are intended to support technical planning, monitoring and execution across projects undertaken by NHIDCL.
The partnership establishes a framework for collaboration aimed at strengthening project planning, engineering standards, construction quality and safety across NHIDCL’s infrastructure portfolio.
RITES brings its experience in transport infrastructure consultancy to the arrangement, while NHIDCL’s mandate covers the development of national highways and strategic infrastructure, particularly in the North-East and other strategically important areas.
The collaboration is expected to support the delivery of highway and infrastructure projects by providing specialised technical inputs across different stages of project development, from preparation and design to quality assessment, safety and engineering support.
The MoU expands RITES’ engagement in highway and strategic infrastructure consultancy and provides a framework for the two public-sector organisations to work together on projects focused on connectivity and infrastructure development in the North-East and other strategic regions.
