Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has flagged off the first freight train from the newly constructed rail yard of the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) at Nangal Chaudhary in Mahendragarh district, marking the commencement of rail connectivity at the major logistics facility. The railway infrastructure, developed at a cost of around ₹280 crore, is expected to strengthen Haryana’s freight movement network and improve connectivity with the national logistics system.
The first phase of the IMLH is spread across 408 acres and has been developed at an estimated investment of around ₹1,300 crore. The overall project is planned in two phases across 886 acres. Once fully operational, the hub is expected to handle approximately 2 million containers annually, supporting sectors including automobiles, machinery, garments and agricultural products.
The integration of rail and road connectivity is expected to facilitate faster and more cost-effective movement of goods between the western ports and the National Capital Region (NCR). The logistics hub has been equipped with facilities for freight movement, storage, loading and unloading and rapid dispatch, which are expected to help industries reduce transportation time and logistics costs.
The project is being developed with the involvement of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), along with the state’s Industries and Commerce Department. The rail connection is linked to the country’s dedicated freight network, further strengthening the strategic position of Nangal Chaudhary for industrial and commercial activity.
It’s multimodal connectivity and large-scale freight-handling capacity, the Nangal Chaudhary IMLH is expected to emerge as an important logistics gateway for Haryana and neighbouring Rajasthan, while supporting the development of a more integrated freight and industrial ecosystem in northern India.
