Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has inaugurated the first phase of the Karbigahia-Mithapur flyover in Patna, constructed at a cost of ₹249 crore. The project is aimed at easing traffic congestion in one of the city’s busy corridors and improving connectivity to key locations, including the railway station.
Along with the flyover, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a 2.1-km elevated road from Mithapur to Sipara under the Mithapur-Mahuli-Punpun project. The two projects are expected to improve traffic movement and provide smoother connectivity across important stretches of Patna.
The Karbigahia-Mithapur flyover, along with its approach and service roads, connects the Mithapur bus stand with Mithapur roundabout through the newly constructed Karbigahia roundabout. The new link is expected to reduce congestion in Karbigahia, Mithapur and Station Road, while also improving access to Patna railway station.
The Mithapur-Sipara elevated road is expected to provide relief to traffic movement along the Mithapur-Sipara route. It will also facilitate smoother travel towards Mahuli and Punpun, improving connectivity between these areas and Patna.
Speaking at the inauguration, Choudhary said the two projects would contribute to better traffic management in Patna, reduce vehicular pressure on major roads and ensure safer commuting for residents and commuters.
The inauguration of these infrastructure projects marks another step towards strengthening Patna’s urban road network. With the new flyover and elevated road providing additional routes for traffic movement, the projects are expected to improve journey times and reduce congestion across key stretches of the city.
