Ashoka Buildcon Ltd. has secured a major infrastructure project from the Public Works Department (PWD), Daman, after receiving a Letter of Acceptance for the construction of a new bridge in the coastal region of the Union Territory. The project, valued at ₹307.71 crore excluding GST, will be executed under a design-and-build model.
The proposed bridge will connect Jampore Sea Front Road near the Lighthouse with Devka Sea Front Road at Parkota Sheri, creating a vital link between two prominent coastal corridors in Daman. The project aims to strengthen road infrastructure in the region while improving overall connectivity along the coastline.
As per the contract terms, Ashoka Buildcon will be responsible for the complete design, engineering, and construction of the bridge. The company is expected to complete the project within a 30-month construction period from the appointed date.
Once operational, the bridge is expected to significantly ease traffic movement between the Jampore and Devka sea fronts, reduce travel time, and enhance access to key urban and recreational areas. The improved connectivity is also anticipated to support local tourism, facilitate smoother movement for residents, and contribute to planned urban development initiatives in Daman.
The project forms part of ongoing efforts by the local administration to upgrade transportation infrastructure and improve public access across coastal zones through modern and resilient engineering solutions.
