Ammann India Powers Record-Breaking Asphalt Laying on NH-544G with Rajpath Infracon

Ammann India asphalt plants supporting record-breaking asphalt laying on NH-544G expressway with Rajpath Infracon
Ammann India’s high-capacity asphalt plants enabled Rajpath Infracon to set a Guinness World Record on NH-544G in Andhra Pradesh.

Ammann India has played a pivotal role in a landmark highway construction achievement on National Highway 544G, supporting Rajpath Infracon Private Limited in setting a new Guinness World Record for asphalt laying performance. The record was officially recognised on 12 January 2026, marking one of the fastest and highest-volume asphalt execution efforts ever recorded on an Indian expressway.

The record-setting operation was carried out between 5 and 11 January 2026 near Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh. During this intensive execution window, Rajpath Infracon achieved two major milestones: the highest asphalt laying output and the construction of the longest expressway stretch within 24 hours and across a cumulative 130-hour period. Ammann India’s advanced asphalt production technology formed the backbone of this achievement, demonstrating how robust equipment and strong technology partnerships can enable execution at unprecedented scale and speed.

To support uninterrupted operations, three high-capacity Ammann asphalt plants were deployed at the project site. These plants ensured consistent mix quality, stable output, and operational reliability throughout the demanding schedule. At peak performance, the combined production capacity reached 300 tonnes per hour, enabling the laying of 25,095 tonnes of asphalt over a 42-kilometre stretch. This translated into 156 lane kilometres completed in just five days, including an earlier achievement of 28.8 kilometres laid within a single 24-hour window. The plants recorded an impressive uptime of 95 percent and were supported by a dedicated on-site team of over 20 personnel, reinforcing Ammann’s focus on reliability and execution excellence.

Beyond productivity, the deployment also highlighted Ammann India’s emphasis on sustainable road construction practices, proving that high-speed infrastructure development can be achieved without compromising environmental responsibility.

Commenting on the achievement, Dheeraj Panda, Managing Director, Ammann India, said that the milestone reflects the company’s commitment to supporting India’s infrastructure ambitions through advanced, efficient, and sustainable technologies. He noted that the project demonstrates how modern road construction equipment can successfully balance productivity, quality, and sustainability, and congratulated Rajpath Infracon for achieving the Guinness World Record.

Jagdish Kadam, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Rajpath Infracon Private Limited, highlighted the scale of the challenge, stating that the project required more than 57,000 metric tonnes of bituminous concrete. He emphasised that such volumes demanded a highly coordinated and aggressive execution strategy. In addition to supplying the asphalt plants, Ammann India provided round-the-clock on-site technical support and ensured continuous availability of spares, enabling uninterrupted production. According to Kadam, the reliability and commitment of the Ammann team were instrumental in achieving the record.

He further added that the accomplishment sets a new benchmark for expressway construction in India, showcasing the industry’s ability to deliver complex highway projects within compressed timelines. Strong technology partners and a well-supported execution ecosystem, he noted, were critical in meeting stringent quality and time requirements.

This latest milestone builds on Ammann India’s earlier record-setting contribution in May 2025, when its ValueTec asphalt plants supported Patel Infrastructure in achieving an engineering feat by laying 34.24 lane kilometres of bituminous concrete within 24 hours further reinforcing Ammann’s growing role in India’s high-performance road construction landscape.
