Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two new Amrit Bharat Express trains along with several other railway projects aimed at strengthening connectivity between South India and eastern industrial corridors. The launch will take place virtually from Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu.

Among the key services to be flagged off are the Podanur–Dhanbad Amrit Bharat Express, connecting Tamil Nadu with Jharkhand, and the Nagercoil–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, linking Tamil Nadu with Telangana. These trains are expected to enhance long-distance connectivity and improve travel options for passengers across multiple states.

The programme will also include the launch of additional express and passenger train services, further strengthening rail connectivity across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring regions.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to expand railway infrastructure and improve connectivity between major industrial regions and emerging economic corridors across the country.
