Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the newly developed Infocity–Ekamra Kanan Road in Bhubaneswar and simultaneously launched the construction of the Jayadev Vihar–Nandankanan Flyover Project, marking a major step toward improving urban mobility in the state capital.
The newly inaugurated road is expected to ease traffic movement between the Infocity and Ekamra Kanan areas, providing faster connectivity to residential, commercial, and institutional zones. The project has been developed to accommodate increasing traffic volumes and support the city’s expanding urban infrastructure.
Alongside the road inauguration, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Jayadev Vihar–Nandankanan flyover corridor, a significant infrastructure project aimed at decongesting one of Bhubaneswar’s busiest traffic stretches. The proposed flyover is expected to improve travel efficiency along the corridor connecting Jayadev Vihar, Patia, and Nandankanan.
The flyover project forms part of the state government’s broader strategy to strengthen urban transport infrastructure and address growing traffic challenges in Bhubaneswar. Once completed, it is expected to reduce travel time, improve traffic flow, and enhance connectivity to key educational institutions, IT hubs, residential areas, and commercial centres.
During the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to developing modern infrastructure that supports economic growth and improves the quality of life for citizens. He noted that investments in roads, flyovers, and urban transport facilities are essential to meeting the needs of a rapidly growing city.
The projects are expected to contribute significantly to Bhubaneswar’s urban development plans, supporting smoother traffic movement and creating a more efficient transportation network for residents and businesses alike.
