The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated ₹750 crore in its latest state budget for the expansion of Noida International Airport, kick-starting plans to develop the facility into a major aviation and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hub. The funding boost is aimed at accelerating multi-phase infrastructure development and enhancing the airport’s capacity to support growing passenger and cargo demand.
The watershed budgetary support follows a series of strategic decisions by state authorities to position Noida International Airport as a key driver of economic growth in western Uttar Pradesh. The investment will help fund priority works under the airport’s phased expansion blueprint, including runway augmentation, terminal upgrades, cargo infrastructure and specialised aviation support facilities.
Officials said the ₹750 crore allocation demonstrates the state’s commitment to fostering a robust aviation ecosystem that can generate employment, attract private investment and bolster connectivity with domestic and international destinations. Noida International Airport, located in the Jewar region of Greater Noida, is expected to serve as a major air traffic gateway for the National Capital Region (NCR) and Uttar Pradesh.
