UltraTech Cement Ltd. has approved a proposal to raise up to ₹5,000 crore through the issuance of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis, the company said in a regulatory filing. The fundraising plan was cleared by the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
The company will issue up to 5,00,000 fully paid, unsecured, listed, rated, redeemable, rupee-denominated, non-convertible and non-cumulative debentures, each with a face value of ₹1 lakh. The NCDs will be issued in one or more tranches, depending on the company’s funding requirements and market conditions.
UltraTech has not yet disclosed details regarding the coupon rate, tenure or schedule for the proposed issuances. These particulars are expected to be announced as and when individual tranches are launched.
The fundraising follows the company’s strong financial performance in the June quarter of FY27. UltraTech recently reported a 16.8% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹2,599 crore, while revenue from operations increased 15.85% to ₹24,648 crore. The company continues to maintain its leadership in the domestic cement industry with a total grey cement capacity of 205.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and white cement and putty capacity of 3.2 MTPA.
The proposed NCD issue is expected to support UltraTech’s ongoing expansion plans, including its capacity enhancement programme and other corporate funding requirements, as the company continues to strengthen its position in India’s cement sector.
