The West Bengal government has allotted 50 acres of land in Haldia to Truevis Technologies Pvt. Ltd. for a proposed medical equipment manufacturing plant, backed by an investment of ₹500 crore. The facility will be the company’s second manufacturing base in India and its first in the eastern region.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced the land allocation on October 14 during the inauguration of AdPerMa Private Limited’s integrated phenol and acetone complex in Haldia. The proposed plant is expected to manufacture more than 1,000 units of large medical equipment annually, including diagnostic imaging systems, patient monitoring equipment, radiology and radiotherapy systems, along with related components and assemblies.

Truevis expects the facility to generate annual business exceeding ₹1,000 crore within five years of commissioning. The company also projects more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs during the operational phase, spanning manufacturing, assembly, testing, quality control, biomedical engineering, logistics, installation and after-sales service.

The project is intended to expand domestic manufacturing of advanced medical equipment and reduce dependence on imports in selected product categories. Truevis plans to gradually localise components and work with technical institutions in the region to develop a skilled workforce for the facility.

Haldia’s industrial base, port access and road and rail connectivity are expected to support the movement of equipment and components, while enabling the company to serve hospitals, diagnostic centres and healthcare institutions across eastern and northeastern India. Port access could also support exports as the business expands.

The land allocation comes as the West Bengal government prepares to announce a new industrial policy, expected after Diwali. The policy is expected to address industrial incentives, land allocation and power tariffs as the state seeks to attract fresh manufacturing investment.
