Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited has secured a major railway electrification order worth ₹3,926 crore, marking one of the company’s largest contracts in the infrastructure segment.
The project involves comprehensive electrification works across multiple railway sections, including the installation of overhead equipment (OHE), power supply systems, and associated traction infrastructure. The scope reflects a turnkey execution model, covering design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of electrification systems.
The contract is aligned with Indian Railways’ ongoing network electrification programme, which aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and enable faster, greener train operations across the country. Electrification projects are also critical for increasing line capacity and reducing logistics costs over the long term.
According to available information, the project is expected to be executed over a 36-month period, indicating a large-scale deployment of resources and phased implementation across multiple locations. Such long-duration EPC contracts typically involve coordination across civil, electrical, and systems engineering domains to ensure seamless integration with existing railway infrastructure.
This order significantly strengthens Texmaco’s rail EPC and electrification portfolio, adding strong visibility to its order book and reinforcing its position as a key player in railway infrastructure development. The company has been actively participating in electrification, signalling, and rail systems projects, supporting India’s broader push toward 100% electrified railway operations.
The development comes at a time when Indian Railways is accelerating investments in modernisation, capacity expansion, and sustainable transport infrastructure, creating substantial opportunities for engineering and EPC companies. With this large contract, Texmaco is expected to play a crucial role in advancing the country’s transition toward a more efficient and environmentally sustainable rail network.
