Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Tuesday virtually inaugurated four infrastructure projects worth ₹112.85 crore and launched four new civic development schemes valued at ₹710.50 crore under the Directorate of Municipal Administration, reinforcing the state’s focus on urban infrastructure and public service delivery.
Among the completed projects inaugurated were a high-level bridge in Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation and major drinking water supply improvements in municipalities including Dindigul, Karur and Palladam. The projects are aimed at improving urban mobility, easing traffic congestion and strengthening water infrastructure for growing urban populations.
The Chief Minister also launched a fresh set of municipal infrastructure initiatives worth ₹710.50 crore, covering water supply augmentation, urban infrastructure upgrades and other civic amenities across multiple urban local bodies. These projects are expected to enhance the quality of municipal services while supporting planned urban expansion across the state.
The latest investments form part of Tamil Nadu’s broader strategy to modernise urban infrastructure, improve public utilities and create more resilient cities. By strengthening essential civic infrastructure, the state aims to support sustainable urban growth, improve living standards and accommodate rising economic and demographic demands.
