SSAB has inaugurated a new steel service center in Mumbai, strengthening its presence in India and enhancing local access to advanced steel solutions, particularly Hardox wear parts and Strenx structural components.
The facility is designed to deliver ready-to-use, prefabricated steel components, enabling customers to reduce lead times, improve productivity, and streamline manufacturing processes. It will cater to industries such as construction, mining, material handling, and heavy equipment manufacturing, where high-performance steel solutions are critical.
The center will specialize in processing Hardox steel, known for its exceptional hardness and abrasion resistance, and Strenx steel, which offers high strength-to-weight ratios for load-bearing structures. These materials are widely used to enhance durability, extend equipment life, and reduce operational costs.
With this expansion, SSAB aims to bring value-added services closer to Indian customers, including cutting, machining, and fabrication, supported by technical expertise and application-specific solutions.
