The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has finalised 34 locations near Pune Metro stations where new parking facilities will be developed to support commuters using the city’s growing metro network. The initiative is aimed at improving last-mile connectivity and encouraging more residents to shift to metro travel.

The locations were identified after a joint inspection carried out by PMC and metro authorities, during which multiple sites around metro stations were evaluated. Based on accessibility and space availability, 34 sites were selected for developing dedicated parking zones for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

These parking facilities will be distributed across all three metro corridors in Pune, including the operational Vanaz–Ramwadi line, the PCMC–Swargate corridor, and the upcoming Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar Metro Line 3. The project is expected to make it easier for commuters to reach metro stations using personal vehicles.

Development work has already begun at four of the identified locations, while the remaining parking sites will be taken up in phases. Once completed, the additional parking infrastructure is expected to significantly enhance commuter convenience and improve metro accessibility.

At present, pay-and-park facilities are operational at eight metro stations along the existing metro routes. The expansion of parking infrastructure is expected to support rising passenger numbers and strengthen the role of the metro as a key mode of urban transport in Pune.
