Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked Uttarakhand’s 25th Foundation Day with a grand celebration in Dehradun, unveiling and laying the foundation for projects worth ₹8,140 crore across key sectors including infrastructure, tourism, connectivity, and renewable energy.
Addressing a large gathering at the event, the Prime Minister described Uttarakhand as the “spiritual heartbeat of India,” highlighting the state’s growing role in both national development and global tourism. He commended the people of Uttarakhand for preserving their cultural heritage while embracing modern progress, noting that the state has become a symbol of natural beauty, faith, and forward-looking development.
The new initiatives announced include major road connectivity projects, expansion of health and education facilities, and investments in clean energy and eco-tourism. The Prime Minister also inaugurated several urban infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving living standards in hill towns, alongside projects designed to boost employment opportunities and sustainable livelihoods in rural areas.
Emphasizing the government’s vision for a “Viksit Uttarakhand @2047,” PM Modi said the state’s unique combination of spirituality, ecology, and enterprise positions it as a model for balanced and inclusive growth.
The event also featured cultural performances showcasing Uttarakhand’s traditional music and dance, celebrating the state’s journey since its formation in 2000. Senior government officials, state leaders, and thousands of citizens attended the ceremony, marking the milestone occasion with patriotic fervor and optimism for the future.
