PM Modi Reviews ₹30,000 Crore Infrastructure Projects Across Railways, Roads and Power at 51st PRAGATI Meeting

Narendra Modi chaired the 51st meeting of the PRAGATI platform, where he reviewed critical infrastructure projects worth over ₹30,000 crore spanning railways, roads, and power sectors across nine states.

The high-level review meeting focused on accelerating execution of strategically important infrastructure projects and resolving implementation bottlenecks related to land acquisition, inter-departmental coordination, environmental clearances, and project timelines.

According to officials, the projects reviewed during the meeting are spread across states including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. The initiatives cover major railway corridors, highway developments, power transmission infrastructure, and connectivity enhancement projects.

The PRAGATI platform — Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation — is a technology-driven governance mechanism launched to monitor and expedite critical infrastructure and public sector projects through direct coordination between the Prime Minister’s Office, central ministries, and state governments.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of timely project completion and directed officials to strengthen coordination mechanisms to ensure faster execution of infrastructure works. He also emphasised the role of infrastructure development in supporting economic growth, logistics efficiency, industrial expansion, and regional connectivity.

Railway-related projects reviewed during the meeting included capacity enhancement works, line expansion, freight corridor connectivity, and modernisation initiatives aimed at improving passenger and cargo movement efficiency across key routes.

Road infrastructure projects under review included national highways, expressways, bypass corridors, and connectivity upgrades intended to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and strengthen regional transportation networks.

Power sector projects discussed during the meeting involved transmission infrastructure, grid strengthening, and energy connectivity systems designed to support rising electricity demand and industrial development across multiple states.

Officials noted that PRAGATI meetings have become an important mechanism for monitoring high-value infrastructure projects and addressing delays through direct intervention at the highest level of government. The platform integrates digital monitoring tools, geospatial technologies, and real-time coordination systems for project tracking.

India is currently undergoing one of the world’s largest infrastructure expansion programmes with major investments being made in roads, railways, ports, airports, logistics parks, energy systems, industrial corridors, and urban infrastructure under initiatives such as PM Gati Shakti, Bharatmala, Sagarmala, and the National Infrastructure Pipeline.

Industry experts noted that regular high-level reviews through platforms like PRAGATI are helping accelerate execution timelines and improve accountability in large infrastructure projects, which are critical for sustaining economic growth and manufacturing competitiveness.

Infrastructure analysts believe the projects reviewed during the latest PRAGATI meeting will play a major role in improving logistics integration, boosting industrial productivity, strengthening energy access, and enhancing multimodal connectivity across several high-growth regions of the country.
