Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has undertaken a detailed review of 527 km of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) highway projects in Maharashtra, along with several high-speed corridor developments, as part of efforts to accelerate connectivity across the state.
The review focused on expediting project execution while ensuring financial and operational efficiency in BOT-based infrastructure models. Discussions also covered key high-speed corridors that are expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve inter-city mobility.
Officials were directed to address bottlenecks affecting project progress, with particular attention to land acquisition, clearances, and contractor performance. The emphasis was on ensuring that projects move forward without delays while maintaining construction quality.
Gadkari also highlighted the importance of strengthening investor confidence in BOT projects, noting that streamlined processes and timely execution are essential for attracting private sector participation in highway development.
The corridors under review are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing logistics efficiency and supporting industrial growth across Maharashtra by improving connectivity between major economic centres.
With a renewed focus on speed, quality, and coordination, the government aims to fast-track these projects and reinforce Maharashtra’s position as a key infrastructure and logistics hub in the country.
