NBCC (India) Limited and NHPC Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the execution of NHPC’s infrastructure projects across India. The agreement was formalised on August 28, 2026, at NHPC’s corporate office in Faridabad.
Under the MoU, NBCC will provide Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services and undertake selected NHPC infrastructure projects on a deposit work basis. The collaboration will primarily cover projects involving buildings, structures and allied works across the country.
The scope of NBCC’s engagement will include design, engineering, project management, procurement, construction, quality control, installation, commissioning and statutory compliances, followed by the handing over of completed projects. This provides NHPC with an integrated project execution framework for its infrastructure requirements.
The partnership brings together the complementary capabilities of the two Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprises. While NHPC has extensive experience in the hydropower and clean-energy sectors, NBCC has established expertise in the planning, management and execution of large infrastructure projects in accordance with government guidelines.
The agreement is expected to enable NHPC to leverage NBCC’s project management and construction capabilities for infrastructure development across different locations in India. The projects covered under the arrangement may include residential blocks, residential and commercial infrastructure, office complexes and allied facilities.
The collaboration also strengthens the role of NBCC in executing infrastructure works for other government-owned organisations, while providing NHPC with an established agency for managing and delivering building and allied infrastructure projects.
The pan-India arrangement comes as NHPC continues to expand its presence across the power and infrastructure sectors. For NBCC, the MoU further broadens its project execution portfolio and reinforces its position as a project management and construction partner for government institutions.
The agreement is therefore expected to support faster and more structured execution of NHPC’s infrastructure projects while bringing together the technical, project-management and execution strengths of both organisations.
