MPA announces a ₹470 crore EPC-based marina project at Cross Island with 600+ yacht berths, premium facilities, and a 45-year concession for private O&M. The marina will boost Mumbai’s maritime infrastructure.

The Mumbai Port Authority (MPA) is set to develop a world-class yacht marina at Cross Island, located near the Princess and Victoria Docks, with an estimated investment of ₹470 crore. The project will be financed through internal resources and executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis. In addition to the marina itself, the development will encompass a road linking the shore to the marina, as well as the construction of breakwaters, dredging, and parking facilities.

The operation and maintenance of the marina will be entrusted to a private firm under a 45-year concession agreement. The firm will invest ₹417.37 crore to develop onshore facilities, including a repair yard, clubhouse, hotel, and restaurant, spread across 4.2 hectares of land. These facilities will not only enhance the visitor experience but also offer essential repair and maintenance services for yachts.

The marina will be developed in three phases. The first phase will include berthing for 424 yachts, along with comprehensive onshore facilities. The second phase will expand the marina with an additional 172 berths, while the third phase will provide exclusive accommodation for eight super-yachts. “This project will be a landmark initiative for Mumbai Port, setting a new standard for the entire maritime ecosystem and transforming the city’s skyline,” M. Angamuthu, Chairman of Mumbai Port Authority, said during an interaction.

The marina will offer a range of waterside infrastructure, including an approach trestle, breakwater, berthing pontoons, gangways, and mooring bollards, all situated on reclaimed land. Onshore amenities will feature a marina terminal, stackyard parking, a repair yard, a clubhouse, and commercial spaces. Yacht owners will be charged for docking, while the facility will also provide repair and maintenance services, as well as a dedicated fuel station, ensuring a reliable and consistent revenue stream.
