Q. How is the JV redefining the Indian automotive and construction-linked ecosystem over the next decade?

The JSW-MG partnership combines our global automotive expertise with JSW Group’s deep manufacturing prowess in India. Over the next decade, we are building an integrated ecosystem spanning raw materials to end-user experiences. With JSW’s partnership we can create a localized automotive value chain that serves passenger vehicles, construction and infrastructure sectors through our commercial vehicle plans. We are creating a comprehensive mobility ecosystem for India’s rapidly urbanizing landscape.

Q. With nearly 41% of Halol’s workforce being women, MG is setting new benchmarks in gender diversity. Beyond inclusion, how are you preparing this workforce for leadership roles, skill versatility, and the demands of a futureready automotive industry?

With 41% women in our overall workforce and a remarkable 80% female representation in our battery assembly line at the Halol plant, gender diversity is a strategic priority at JSW MG Motor India. We have created an enabling environment with dedicated hostels, transport, and safety protocols, supporting women to thrive. Our continuous skilling efforts focus on
EV technologies, connected cars, and advanced manufacturing, preparing women for leadership and versatile roles. Our Nurture initiative aims to upskill over 100,000 students, equipping future talent with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge
vehicle technologies.

Programs like ‘Drive Her Back’ support women returning from career breaks with structured onboarding, mentorship, and upskilling, while EmpowHer accelerates leadership development. We foster an inclusive culture through partnerships with educational institutions and women-centric initiatives, empowering careers at all levels. This commitment not only advances gender equity but cultivates innovation and operational excellence, positioning JSW MG Motor India as an industry leader in workforce diversity and inclusion.

These initiatives together exemplify our holistic approach to building a future-ready, diverse, and skilled workforce that will drive India’s EV revolution forward.

Q. Over 60% of Halol’s energy already comes from renewables, carbon neutrality by 2029. What steps is JSW MG Motor India taking to embed sustainability not just in energy sourcing, but across the entire value chain design, materials, and lifecycle management?

Sustainability is embedded in our DNA. Currently, over 60% of the Halol plant’s energy is sourced from renewables, supported by a 4.85 MW windsolar power plant that significantly lowers carbon emissions. A major milestone is India’s first Green Pretreatment line in our paint shop, developed with PPG Asian Paints, which operates at a lower temperature of 38°C—reducing carbon emissions by approximately 1,800 tons annually while enhancing process efficiency and cutting fuel consumption.

Beyond energy, our sustainability initiatives extend across the value chain with a holistic focus on responsible sourcing, water conservation, and waste reduction. These efforts include rigorous supplier sustainability standards and strict waste management protocols, ensuring minimal environmental impact through lifecycle management. While Project Revive and battery recycling initiatives are key to our broader eco goals, our plant-level practices highlight how innovation and operational excellence drive JSW MG Motor India’s commitment to responsible manufacturing and India’s climate objectives.
