Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured an ultra-mega contract worth more than ₹15,000 crore from a major client in the Middle East for the development of gas compression facilities and associated infrastructure. The contract has been awarded to L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore (LTEH Onshore) against a Letter of Award issued in FY26.
The project involves the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of new onshore gas compression facilities designed to process sour gas. The scope includes gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and produced-water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and associated utilities. The facilities will be developed in accordance with applicable client standards, codes and project requirements.
To meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants, L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business will execute two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations. The integration of gas processing infrastructure with dedicated power facilities will form part of the overall project execution.
Commenting on the order, E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, said the project will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure while drawing on L&T’s experience in executing large and technically complex hydrocarbon facilities. He also highlighted the company’s capability in delivering integrated solutions for challenging sour-gas applications.
The latest award marks L&T’s third ultra-mega order in August, following major contracts secured earlier in the month, including an offshore project from ADNOC Offshore. Under L&T’s order classification, contracts valued at more than ₹15,000 crore are categorised as ultra-mega orders.
The new contract further strengthens L&T’s international hydrocarbon order book and its presence in the Middle East, where the company continues to participate in large-scale energy infrastructure projects. The award also underlines the growing requirement for gas processing and associated infrastructure across the region.
