Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business has secured multiple engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore across India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The projects cover transmission lines, substations and associated power infrastructure and are aimed at strengthening electricity networks and supporting the integration and evacuation of renewable energy.
In Saudi Arabia, L&T has won orders in the 380 kV transmission and substation segments. The projects are intended to augment transmission capacity and facilitate renewable energy evacuation, strengthening the country’s power transmission network and enabling greater integration of renewable energy into the grid.
In the United Arab Emirates, L&T’s PT&D business has secured an order for the construction of 132/11 kV substations along with associated cabling works. The project adds to the company’s power transmission and distribution portfolio in the Middle East.
The domestic order involves setting up a transmission system in Visakhapatnam for a leading private sector developer. The scope comprises transmission lines and substations. The name of the awarding company has not been disclosed.
L&T classifies contracts valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore as “Mega” orders. Contracts above ₹15,000 crore fall under the company’s “Ultra-Mega” category.
Joji Sebastian, Executive Vice President and Head of PT&D, L&T, said the latest wins demonstrate the division’s engineering and execution capabilities and its ability to deliver complex power infrastructure projects across different geographies.
The company said the orders come amid increasing requirements for grid strengthening, renewable energy integration and related infrastructure. The projects in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and India add to L&T’s presence in markets where transmission networks are being expanded to accommodate growing electricity requirements and renewable generation.
L&T’s PT&D business provides end-to-end solutions across the power transmission and distribution segment, including the design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of transmission lines, substations, underground cable networks and distribution networks.
The business also undertakes power quality improvement and infrastructure electrification projects. The latest orders further expand its portfolio across domestic and international markets and reinforce its focus on large-scale grid infrastructure and renewable energy evacuation.
