Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured multiple Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts from leading domestic metals and mining companies, with the combined value of the orders falling under the company’s ‘Mega’ category (₹10,000–15,000 crore). The orders will be executed by L&T’s Metals & Minerals (M&M) business and cover projects in the iron ore, steel and zinc sectors.
One of the key contracts involves the development of an 18 MTPA Iron Ore Handling Plant in Chhattisgarh. L&T’s scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of a downhill conveyor system, screening plant, stockyard, yard equipment, Rapid Wagon Loading System (RWLS) and other associated facilities required for efficient material handling.
The company has also won multiple Design & Build and Balance of Plant (BoP) packages from a Navratna public sector enterprise for the expansion of its integrated steel plant in West Bengal. The project will enhance the plant’s crude steel production capacity from 2.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 7.1 MTPA, with L&T responsible for executing key infrastructure and process facilities.
In addition, L&T has secured an EPC contract from a leading private-sector zinc producer for setting up a new roaster and acid plant. The facility is expected to improve processing capacity and support the customer’s ongoing expansion plans in the non-ferrous metals segment.
