Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major order for a large-scale housing redevelopment project in Mumbai, further strengthening its presence in the urban infrastructure and residential construction segment. The contract has been awarded to the company’s Residential, Commercial & Factories (RCF) business vertical, according to a company announcement.
The project involves the construction of 26 high-rise residential towers, each rising to approximately 120 metres, using advanced precast construction technology. The redevelopment will also include associated infrastructure and modern residential amenities, reflecting L&T’s focus on adopting faster and more efficient construction methods for large urban projects.
L&T classifies the contract as a ‘Major’ order, indicating a project value in the range of ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore under its internal order classification. The company, however, has not disclosed the exact value of the contract or the name of the client.
The order reinforces L&T’s execution capabilities in complex redevelopment projects, particularly in Mumbai’s high-density urban landscape, where large housing renewal initiatives continue to gain momentum. The company remains one of India’s leading engineering and construction firms, with a strong portfolio spanning transportation, buildings, heavy civil infrastructure, water, power and industrial projects.
