In a major infrastructure development for Telangana’s capital city, KNR Constructions Limited has been awarded a prestigious ₹319.24 crore contract to construct Hyderabad’s second cable-stayed bridge across the Mir Alam Tank. The project, sanctioned by the Telangana government, will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, underscoring the state’s push toward modern and sustainable urban infrastructure.

The upcoming bridge will connect the Bengaluru National Highway (NH-44) at Shastripuram to Chintalmet, creating a direct and efficient link between two fast-developing zones in the southern part of Hyderabad. Once completed, this structure is expected to significantly decongest traffic in the region, providing smoother connectivity for thousands of daily commuters traveling toward the city’s western and southern corridors.

Designed to be a landmark architectural feature, the Mir Alam Tank bridge will be Hyderabad’s second cable-stayed bridge, following the success of the Durgam Cheruvu Bridge in Madhapur, which has become an iconic urban attraction since its inauguration. The new bridge will not only improve mobility but also add to the city’s visual and infrastructural appeal, serving as a symbol of Hyderabad’s modern engineering capabilities.

Importantly, this project is part of the larger Musi Riverfront Development Project (MRDP), an ambitious urban revitalization plan aimed at transforming the 58-kilometer stretch of the Musi River corridor. The MRDP focuses on multiple goals including flood mitigation, infrastructure enhancement, environmental restoration, and tourism promotion. By linking key arterial roads and improving access across the Musi region, the new bridge will contribute to balanced urban growth and sustainable mobility.

With this project, KNR Constructions, a well-established infrastructure company known for its strong execution track record, continues to strengthen its presence in Telangana’s infrastructure landscape. The bridge is expected to feature state-of-the-art engineering, advanced lighting systems, and pedestrian-friendly pathways, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Once operational, the Mir Alam Tank cable-stayed bridge will not only ease commuting challenges but also become a new urban landmark, blending modern design, connectivity, and environmental harmony in one of Hyderabad’s most historic and scenic zones.
