Jupiter Wagons Ltd. has secured two orders worth a combined ₹211.27 crore, including GST, from JSW Port Logistics Pvt. Ltd. and Orissa Alloy Steel Pvt. Ltd. (OASPL) for the manufacture and supply of freight wagons, strengthening its presence in India’s growing private-sector rail freight and rolling-stock market.

Under the first order, Jupiter Wagons has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) worth ₹147.11 crore from JSW Port Logistics for the manufacture and supply of seven BOSM rakes comprising 329 BOSM wagons. The order marks the company’s second major win from the JSW Group in around six weeks.

Earlier in June 2026, JSW (South) Rail Logistics Pvt. Ltd. had placed an order worth ₹122.88 crore with Jupiter Wagons. With the latest contract, the company’s cumulative order intake from JSW Group entities has reached approximately ₹270 crore in less than two months, highlighting the group’s continued engagement with private wagon manufacturing and logistics solutions.

In a separate order, OASPL has placed a purchase order worth ₹64.16 crore for the manufacture and supply of 150 wagons under the LSFTO scheme. The contract adds another private-sector customer to Jupiter Wagons’ expanding freight-rolling-stock portfolio.

The combined orders come as India’s freight ecosystem sees increasing participation from private industrial groups in wagon ownership and leasing. Greater private investment in rolling stock is creating demand for specialised and higher-capacity wagons that can support bulk commodity movement and improve the efficiency of industrial supply chains.

For wagon manufacturers, this shift is opening a market beyond conventional railway procurement, with industrial companies increasingly looking to secure dedicated rolling-stock capacity aligned with their own logistics requirements. The trend also supports faster movement of commodities between production centres, ports, plants and consumption markets.

Jupiter Wagons said the latest orders reinforce its position as a manufacturing partner for specialised freight wagon platforms. The company is looking to leverage its integrated manufacturing capabilities and diversified product portfolio to cater to rising demand for rolling stock from India’s rail freight and logistics sectors.

The order wins also strengthen the company’s visibility in the private wagon ownership and leasing segment, where growing industrial freight volumes and the need for more efficient logistics are expected to support continued demand for modern wagon solutions.
