JSW Cement has commissioned an additional 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) cement grinding unit at its Nagaur facility in Rajasthan, taking the plant’s total grinding capacity to 3.5 MTPA and the company’s overall grinding capacity to 25.1 MTPA.
The company disclosed the commissioning on October 6, 2026, under the applicable SEBI listing regulations. The new unit increases JSW Cement’s total grinding capacity from 24.1 MTPA to 25.1 MTPA.
JSW Cement had commenced operations at its greenfield integrated cement plant in Nagaur in March 2026. The facility initially comprised a 3.3 MTPA clinkerisation unit and a 2.5 MTPA cement grinding unit. The additional 1 MTPA grinding unit was part of the expansion planned at the site.
The Nagaur facility is strategically positioned to serve cement markets across Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and the National Capital Region. The additional grinding capacity is expected to strengthen the company’s supply capabilities in these northern markets as it expands its presence in the region.
The company’s total clinker manufacturing capacity currently stands at 9.74 MTPA, including the clinker capacity of its joint venture, JSW Cement FZC.
JSW Cement has funded its expansion programme through a combination of equity and long-term debt. The company had earlier allocated ₹800 crore from the proceeds of its initial public offering towards part-financing of the Nagaur integrated cement plant.
During the September 2026 quarter, JSW Cement also commissioned an alternate fuel handling system and a waste heat recovery system at the Nagaur facility. These additions are aimed at improving the plant’s operating efficiency and reducing production costs.
The commissioning of the additional grinding unit forms part of JSW Cement’s broader capacity expansion strategy. The company had earlier stated that the Nagaur plant would play an important role in establishing its presence in the northern Indian cement market.
As of October 6, 2026, JSW Cement’s installed grinding capacity stood at 25.1 MTPA. The company’s reported capacity includes production through certain exclusive manufacturing partnerships with its subsidiary Shiva Cement and group companies.
The Nagaur expansion strengthens JSW Cement’s manufacturing footprint in North India and increases its ability to supply cement to key markets from its Rajasthan base.
