Hindustan Zinc Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CMR Green Technologies Ltd. to set up a zinc alloy manufacturing facility at the upcoming Zinc Park in Rajasthan, strengthening India’s downstream metals ecosystem.

The collaboration marks the second major partnership for Zinc Park, an industrial hub envisioned as India’s first integrated ecosystem for zinc-based applications. The facility will focus on producing high-quality, low-emission zinc alloys used in sectors such as automotive, infrastructure, die-casting, and consumer goods.

CMR Green Technologies, one of India’s largest non-ferrous metal recycling companies, will develop and operate the manufacturing unit. The partnership is expected to enhance downstream value addition in zinc, promote sustainable metal processing, and strengthen the domestic supply chain for zinc-based industrial materials.

The Zinc Park project was announced during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 and is being jointly developed by Hindustan Zinc and the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO). Strategically located near Hindustan Zinc’s operations in Chanderiya, Dariba, and Debari, the hub is designed to provide reliable raw material supply and efficient logistics.

The park aims to host both MSMEs and large enterprises involved in galvanising, die-casting, zinc oxide production, and other zinc-based manufacturing activities. With long-term raw material linkages, renewable-energy-powered infrastructure, and industrial incentives, the initiative is expected to support advanced manufacturing, generate employment, and promote circular economy practices through metal recycling and reuse.

Zinc alloys are widely valued for their strength, corrosion resistance, and recyclability, making them essential for modern manufacturing supply chains. The upcoming facility is expected to meet rising demand for sustainable zinc materials while reinforcing Rajasthan’s position as a key hub for metals-based industrial development in India.
