Indore-based Highway Infrastructure Ltd (HIL) has secured toll operations contracts worth more than ₹245 crore in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, adding to its tolling portfolio and expanding its presence across major highway networks.
The company has received a contract from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for toll collection and plaza management services on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. The contract is valued at ₹220.66 crore and has a tenure of two years.
Under the Uttar Pradesh contract, the amount payable for the first year is ₹105.08 crore, while the second year will carry a 10% escalation. The scope covers collection of user fees and operation of toll plazas along the Gorakhpur Link Expressway.
The contract also includes the deployment of four patrol-cum-safety vehicles along with the personnel required to operate them. UPEIDA has the option to extend the contract by up to six months.
In Tamil Nadu, HIL has received a Letter of Acceptance from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for operations at the Velanchettiyur Fee Plaza. The contract is valued at ₹24.46 crore.
The Velanchettiyur Fee Plaza is located at Km 332+000 on the four-lane divided carriageway of the Karur-Dindigul section of NH-7. The relevant highway stretch extends from Km 292.600 to Km 373.725, with the actual site section running from Km 290+000 to Km 367+725. The project falls under NHDP Phase II, identified as TN-04.
The NHAI contract involves engagement as the user fee collection agency through an e-quotation and e-tender process. HIL will also undertake upkeep and maintenance of the toilet blocks adjacent to the fee plaza, including replenishment of consumable items. The order is to be executed within 90 days.
The two new contracts take HIL’s tolling business further across both state and national highway networks. The company said that, along with its existing tolling operations, the tolling vertical is expected to generate more than ₹400 crore in revenue over the next two years.
Highway Infrastructure operates across tollway collection, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and real estate. The company currently has operations in 11 states and one Union Territory.
Arun Kumar Jain, Managing Director, Highway Infrastructure, said the new contracts provide greater visibility to the company’s tolling business and support its strategy of expanding its toll operations portfolio. The company said it remains focused on highway management services through its growing portfolio of toll operations.
