GR Infraprojects Ltd has secured a major rail infrastructure contract worth ₹1,897 crore for the construction of the Sidhi-Singrauli rail line project, officials said on Friday, marking a significant addition to the company’s portfolio in the rail sector.
Under the contract, GR Infraprojects will be responsible for the design and construction of critical railway infrastructure between Sidhi and Singrauli, a stretch expected to strengthen regional connectivity and support economic activity in the resource-rich areas of eastern Madhya Pradesh. The scope of work includes track laying, earthwork, bridges, culverts, station facilities and other associated civil works required to operationalise the rail link.
The project is being pursued as part of broader national efforts to expand rail connectivity in underserved regions, facilitate efficient movement of goods and passengers, and support industrial and mining growth. Singrauli, known for its energy and mineral resources, is a key node in the region, and the new rail line is expected to improve access for freight movement alongside passenger services.
Officials noted that the contract award reflects continued investor confidence in GR Infraprojects’ execution capabilities and experience in delivering large-scale rail works. The company has previously executed multiple rail and infrastructure projects across India, leveraging engineering expertise and project management systems to meet quality and timeline commitments.
Execution of the Sidhi-Singrauli rail line is anticipated to generate direct employment opportunities and stimulate local economic activity during the construction phase. Coordination with regional authorities and stakeholders will be crucial to ensure timely clearances, land acquisition support and adherence to safety and environmental norms.
With this contract, GR Infraprojects reinforces its presence in the expanding rail infrastructure space, which is benefiting from sustained government investment and prioritisation of connectivity projects across the national railway network.
Work on the project is expected to begin following statutory approvals, detailed design finalisation and resource mobilisation, with progress monitored under structured execution frameworks to ensure quality outcomes and timely delivery.
