Dilip Buildcon bags ₹5,000 crore NALCO contract to develop and operate Odisha’s Pottangi Bauxite Mine.

Dilip Buildcon Limited has secured a major contract worth ₹5,000 crore from National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) for the development and operation of the Pottangi Bauxite Mine in Odisha. The company emerged as the lowest bidder for the project, which will be executed under a 25-year Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) agreement.

The project involves the complete development of the Pottangi mine, including construction of the overland conveyor corridor, road networks, water intake systems, and associated mining and transportation infrastructure. During the initial three-year EPC phase, valued at around ₹1,750 crore, Dilip Buildcon will undertake engineering, procurement, construction, and the handling of nearly seven million tonnes of bauxite. The subsequent mining phase will cover the extraction and transportation of approximately 77 million tonnes of bauxite over the remaining 22 years, valued at about ₹3,250 crore.

The Pottangi Bauxite Mine, located in the Koraput district, spans close to 698 hectares and is a key raw material source for NALCO’s expanding alumina production capacity. The long-term MDO partnership is expected to ensure steady bauxite supply for NALCO’s operations and future growth plans.

Following the announcement, Dilip Buildcon’s stock witnessed positive movement, reflecting strong investor confidence in the company’s expanding mining portfolio.
