DBL secures a ₹879.30 crore NHAI contract to upgrade a key 46.665 km stretch of NH-49 in Tamil Nadu, boosting connectivity, freight efficiency, and regional infrastructure growth.

Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL) has secured a ₹879.30 crore Letter of Award from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for upgrading a key stretch of NH-49 (New NH-87) in Tamil Nadu, strengthening the company’s presence in the state’s highway development programme.

The project covers the Paramakudi–Ramanathapuram section, spanning 46.665 kilometres, and aims to enhance connectivity along an important corridor that links several towns and facilitates movement towards the coastal belt.

Awarded under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), the contract involves four-laning the existing highway, improving road geometry, and integrating modern safety features to support smoother and faster travel. The upgraded stretch is expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve freight movement, and ease congestion for daily commuters and logistics operators.
According to the terms of the award, the construction period is 24 months, after which DBL will be responsible for operations and maintenance for 15 years from the commercial operation date. The project is part of NHAI’s ongoing efforts to expand and modernise national highways across Tamil Nadu, which has emerged as a key hub for industrial growth and transport infrastructure.

With this win, Dilip Buildcon continues to strengthen its national highway portfolio and reinforce its position as a major EPC and HAM player in India’s road construction sector.
