Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh has launched the ‘Malba Portal’, a digital platform aimed at streamlining the collection and disposal of construction and demolition (C&D) waste across the national capital. The initiative is designed to tackle the issue of illegal dumping of debris and improve overall waste management efficiency in the city.
Developed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the portal enables citizens, builders, contractors, developers, and government agencies to request the pickup of construction waste through an online platform or by scanning a QR code. Once a request is registered, authorised transporters will collect the debris and transport it to designated collection points or recycling facilities.
The digital system is expected to improve transparency and accountability in the handling of construction waste while also helping to reduce dust pollution caused by improper disposal. Authorities believe the portal will encourage better compliance with waste management norms and promote recycling of construction debris.
The initiative comes ahead of the implementation of the C&D Waste Management Rules, 2025, which will come into effect from April 1, further strengthening regulations for managing construction waste in the capital.
